Utilizing a TruNarc Handheld Narcotics Analyzer, detectives have determined that the suspected drug-laced candy hearts, are nothing but sugary candy. There is no reason to believe anyone who received these candies is in any danger.

However, it is always recommended that you do not eat candy that is not in its original packaging.

There is a rumor going around facebook tonight that an individual turned in candy hearts they believed to be laced with an unknown drug into the Braidwood Police Department and that these drugs tested positive to be roofies. While an individual did turn in a small baggy containing candy hearts theyvhave not tested positive or been identified at this time. Our Mission

It is the mission of the Braidwood Fire Department to provide the highest level of life and property protection services through aggressive fire control systems, an integrated pre-hospital care system, fire prevention, public education and emergency management. To accomplish our mission we will provide fire suppression and prevention programs, state of the art pre-hospital care and effective scene management. We will stand ready to support and assist other fire service organizations in accomplishing their missions. Through prevention, education and training efforts we will strive to prevent, prepare for, or otherwise limit the extent of any fire damage or other emergency situation.

Our Mission

Braidwood E.S.D.A accomplishes its mission through a wide array of various efforts, including development of emergency plans; participation in disaster exercises; public awareness and education; and provides assistance to both Fire & Police Agencies. Emergency Services and Disaster Agency is an integral part of our City’s emergency response team. This organization ensures that updating of emergency procedures occurs. E.S.D.A members provide support to the City’s emergency responders and are prepared to assist at any major event that our City may experience. All members are entirely volunteer and have joined in an effort to strengthen our City’s emergency response in all capacities. Certifications: E.S.D.A members are trained in many different emergency management specialties and maintain a variety of certifications. A few of these certifications include: CPR, Basic/Advanced Weather Spotting, and incident command.
